Getting ready to launch

A lot has happened since the last time I posted in October. I have had to move my business Charlot Marine, out of the large shop where we had been located for thirty five years ( six of them with me) to a smaller shop in s.w. Portland. This consumed a large chunk of my time as well as setting up a new shop etc. After the holidays I set back to work and have been able to finish everything except a few minor task. My work schedule has filled up through the summer but I am planing to launch in April.
This will be my last post on this blog, so here are some before and after pictures. Thanks for following the progress, I hope It has been inspiring and sobering.

P.S.
It required somewhere around 2,900 man hrs. to complete this project.

Propane lockers

Tod Couch built some spectacular propane lockers out of Sappele. This is the same wood we used on the bulwarks.

Awl Grip for all my freinds

We are on the final push, I have lots bits and peices to install now that the paint is done.
Here are some shots of the new paint on the house and deck. I used Chevy white Awl Grip, it has a nice grey blue tint.

June/July

I have not posted since May, we have made vi sable progress during that time. In June we removed the bulwarks and and varnished everything off the boat using Awl Spar, every part received eleven coats. During that time all of the electrical work was completed and the mast was wired. We also built new propane lockers and finished prepping the hull for paint. In July the hull was painted Insignia white using Awl craft. The Sheer and boot stripes were painted Jade Mist Green. The sole and hull ceiling were also made, using clear vertical grain fir.
