Hi all! I have started this blog to follow the restoration of a 1981, Sam L. Morse Bristol Channel Cutter. This is my first time "blogging" so be patient.
We are doing this restoration in Portland Oregon at my shop, Charlot Marine. I purchased the boat in march, out of St. Peters burg Florida, from the original owner. The boat "Sirena" had been stuck in a backwater that was silted in for the past five years. We began work in September and hope to be done by April of 2009.
Up to this point we have removed all of the exterior wood and are in the process of replacing it with Sappelle. We acquired bule of gorges planks seventeen feet long and twenty inches wide. we have also removed all of the stainless hardware, and it is being cast in bronze by the Port Townsend Foundry. We have also done the bottom, it was in awful shape; With West System and Interlux barrier coat.
I hope to post on a weekly bassis, so enjoy the show!

Great...
Looking forward to following your progress. Building our BCC from a hull was a wonderful experience.
